Festival Knighting Ceremony with Companie Draco Routiers

Throughout the medieval era, Knighthood and the virtues of Chivalry were interwoven within each knight, as an idealisation of the knightly values and ethics. The tales of Arthurian knights, like Gawain and Lancelot, as well as historical knights, like William Marshall and Edward the Black Prince, resonate throughout as the Flowers of Chivalry, upholding the ideals of the Order of Chivalry.

This year, we will be recognising the efforts of Lady Alice Wright, who has been an experienced and valued member of Companie Draco Routiers, and will be celebrated for her contribution to the community.

The ceremony is taken from historical records of ceremonies conducted in the 14th century, with elements drawn directly from Ramon Llulls ‘Book of the Order of Chivalry’, recommended reading for anyone wishing to uphold Chivalry in its entirety.
