In this illustrated talk, UQ historian Assoc. Prof. Geoff Ginn explores the origins of the Abbey Museum’s marvellous collections. The remarkable story of the Museum’s founder, Rev John Ward, and his Abbey Folk Park in London in the 1930s is the focus. We will examine Ward’s passion for history and heritage, his fascination with spiritual and esoteric traditions, and his determination to inspire generations through his innovative social history museum.
