Medieval High Tea – Bribie Island Community Arts Event

Bribie Island Community Arts Centre has partnered with the
Abbey Museum of Art and Archaeology to proudly host:
“Medieval High Tea with Lady Rosalie”.
Saturday April 13, 2.30 – 5pm.
Join us for an afternoon High Tea with entertainment by Lady Rosalie, who will present the life of a Medieval Lady; beauty, bathing and hygiene practices of 14th century women.
Medieval history enthusiast Rosalie Gilbert, will give an enlightening, detailed talk and demonstration of how a noble lady would prepare her toilette to attend a formal event, and explain her dress and accessories. These include museum reproductions of grooming tools and some actual historic items to see and touch.
You can also WIN a chance to have yourself photographed in medieval regalia!
Rosalie is an author and historical reenactor, best known for her online presence sharing sewing tips and authentic medieval life, history and educational content to over 11,000 followers on Rosalie’s Medieval Woman and website rosaliegilbert.com.
This event is in support of the Art@Abbey campaign to raise up to $50,000 for the new Abbey Museum Art Gallery and Café extension. Funds raised will be matched by the Plus1 program supported by Creative Australia.
Tickets $49 pp + booking fee, includes delicious High Tea and bubbles. *Places limited
