Abbey Medieval Festival 9&10 July 2022

The famous Abbey Medieval Festival returns with all the pageantry, colour, sounds and drama of the Middle Ages…Visitors can step back in time and witness the thrill of a joust as Knights on their mighty steeds charge down the list for honour and glory. There will medieval fighting, archery and fencing displays and the firing of powerful cannons and Australia’s largest Trebuchet (catapult).
As you explore the impressive Abbeystowe grounds you may encounter fierce Vikings, Turkish oil wrestling and Birds of Prey. You can learn about medieval farming, participate in music workshops, see ancient crafts brought to life and smell the rich aroma of medieval cooking as it wafts through the air from the authentic reenactors’ encampments. The Medieval Market will bustle with medieval merchants selling their wares and the Stag Inn will be serving hot spicy mead and scrumptious venison pies by a warming fireside…
Children of all ages will be entertained at the Kids Kingdom and there will puppet shows, jugglers, story telling, kids archery and medieval children’s games to keep your young Squires and Maidens entertained during the festival.
