European Works of Art (14th-19th century)

With the majority of this collection now proudly on display in our new Art Gallery, Inspired Images: The Art of Faiths, our collection of Renaissance and Baroque artworks are one of the most significant aspects of the Museum’s collections.  John Ward acquired the majority of these paintings from dealers in London from 1930 to 1934.  A number of early icons were acquired in Cyprus.
